Liron’s research focuses on uncovering fundamental mechanisms of metabolic signaling in cancer and applying advanced biochemical approaches to identify new therapies. His lab has made significant contributions to understanding how cells detect and respond to metabolic stress and has developed small molecule inhibitors targeting hard-to-drug cancer drivers. His work has earned numerous honors, including the Mark Foundation Emerging Leader Award, Pew Stewart Scholarship, AACR-MPM Transformative Award, Damon Runyon-Rachleff Innovation Award, and the Science–SciLifeLab Prize. He is a co-founder of Scorpion Therapeutics and earned his Ph.D. from MIT, followed by postdoctoral training at Scripps Research Institute.
